Hot Apple Band is Sydney's 60s/70s imbued soft rock, alt-country and folk project fronted by inner west multi-instrumentalists, Jack Kinder and Lewis Mosley. Weaving a lush sound with vintage authenticity, HAB brings the brilliance of George Harrison, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Harry Nilsson into the modern day, like Daniel Romano, Weyes Blood, and The Lemon Twigs.
Formerly known as Noodle House, the project began in 2018 as a solo venture of guitar and vocalist Jack Kinder, with Lewis Mosley quickly becoming an integral part of the band's sound, bringing his unforgettable lead and slide guitar playing. Fitting with its title, So Long, Noodle House, their 2023 debut album is a symbolic sign-off on the band's days as "Noodle House" and an exciting introduction to what's to come from Hot Apple Band. A collection of 11 tracks that cover broad ground, the duo bring together colourful 70s alt-country and catchy Beatles-era pop, emotive folk and melodic soft rock. Coming-of-age themes run through the songs, as Jack's lyrics touch on life changes, friendships, love, shitty jobs and growing up.
Having played alongside the likes of Leah Senior, Bones and Jones, Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys, Andy Golledge, Sunfruits, The Uplifting Bell Ends and many others, Hot Apple Band's live ensemble is comprised of Jack Kinder, Lewis Mosley, Charlie Waldren, Hayden Fanning, Jake Sandercock-Brown and Jack Hawley, who translate the recorded material into a lush live sound that is both charming and impressive.
